David,
in 2 days I'll finish what you and I chatted about less than a year ago. My marathon run to raise funds for the BTF is dedicated to you and the hope you brought and bring to so many people. I miss our chats, emails and love of the Cadets. Although the weather is suppose to stink I'll have a smile every mile thinking about you and your gift to us. God Bless you and your family.

Love,
Warren

My absolute sincere thanks to all involved in David's journey - of course, my deepest condolences to David's family and friends,

I am a 66 yr old woman living in Fremantle, Western Australia - After having a recent MRI for possible hearing aid implant, it was discovered that I have 1 x 11mm unknown type of lesion, plus 13mm lesion in same left hand side of brain and tomorrow I meet with medical team to discuss my own journey.

I have just watched the surgery video and I feel humbled by the courage of all involved.

To David, my head is bowed in reverence to your bravery.

To David's medical team I am in awe of your wisdom and courage.

Sincerely, Kathy Charlesworth,
Fremantle Western Australia

First let me express my sympathy to all of David's friends and family.

David's site was a great resource for all of us (as well as our family and friends)who are suffering from brain tumors. Can anyone direct me to other sites or message boards with similar information?

I am a physical therapist and massage therapist that worked with David (I believe he wrote about me on this site). I had been out of touch since last October since I had been dealing with my own diagnosis of breast cancer. David had been very much on my mind, and now that I have recovered from my treatments I just came here and found news of his passing.
I am sorry I could not say goodbye personally, he was a remarkable spirit, my condolences to all his famliy and close friends.

David and I graduated together from the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department. David and I were never close friends but I remember him well.

I was looking through this month's edition of the Virginia Tech Magazine and saw his name. After a quick Google search, I found this website.

I want to express my condolences over David's loss. While we did not share many interestes outside of our major. However, I always respected him. I remember him as a very postive, bright, friendly, and giving person. I’m sure he never changed.

Regards,
Walter Crabtree

I'm so sorry for the loss. I haven't been online in awhile so, I just found out about his passing. We emailed each other a couple times, realizing we had the same doctor. I have also battled with brain cancer in the past (pxa II & aa III). I'm so happy this website will continue, I have learned a ton of information...

Dear David's family,

I just recently found out about your website through my amazing mother-in-law! I, too, am a survivor. I was diagnosed in 2000 with a neurocytoma, I am very healthy now, but still worry everyday. I want you al to know that this site is great! I have been clicking through it and crying or laughing the entire time!

My friends and family will also be in the Race for Hope, again this year! Maybe we will run into each other. My team name is "If I Only Had a Brain . . ." Thank you for keeping the site going and for keeping David's story alive! God Bless!

Hello David's family,
It was lovely to hear from you and how you are keeping David's great work going. For me, in my darkest hour when my mum was suffering with brain cancer, David's site was invaluable and his words that he emailed me, a great help. The fact he took time to reply, and I am sure to so many, shows what a truly great person he was, and he has done, and continues to do, so much to raise the awareness of brain tumours. It must take a lot of strength for you to carry on with this, but do so knowing you are helping and touching so many lives.
