To David's parents....we have lived in Fairfax for over 20 years. One of my twin daughters was diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma August 2009, much smaller than David's but similar type. She had surgery at JHU in August. This website has helped her in SO many ways! I work at NIH and have been able to get her in to see Dr. Fine also...the fact that David thought so highly of him helped her realize how important it was to see Dr. Fine, even if she did not need therapy yet. I just want you to know what a gift this website is to brain tumor patients....it would be a great book! His research is excellent, his words are eloquent..we wish we could have talked to David but thankfully his journal gives us information....I am so sorry for your loss but I hope you can find some pride in what a gifted and selfless person he was to have taken the time to leave the gift of this website to those who suffer the same disease...
